Age 7 to 15

We have increased the number of camper spots by combining our SunMaker and SunHaven weeks. Instead of designating three weeks to SunMaker and two weeks to SunHaven, all campers, SunMaker and SunHaven alike, may choose from a total of five weeks to find the best week to fit with their family’s schedule. SunMaker campers (children affected by childhood cancer) and SunHaven campers (children affected by a parent’s cancer) will have the chance to go to Camp Kindle together and enjoy the opportunity to foster more friendships and support from children experiencing cancer from different perspectives. Sharing experiences and building memories together, these campers can learn and grow from each other as they battle cancer from their unique positions.

SunHaven offers youth ages seven to 15 a one-week sleepover camp experience. Camp Kindle is a place where kids can set aside their worries for a week of fun and laughter with children in similar circumstances. SunHaven campers experience all that Camp Kindle has to offer – swimming, ropes courses, arts and crafts, climbing wall, games, campfires and so much more!  Additionally, campers will have a chance to delve deeper into a skill area of their choice. SunHaven gives young people a sense of community and a place to belong as staff guide campers in fostering friendships and developing self-confidence.

Participants will play a role in the execution of camp activities, such as theme days and morning activities. They will be placed with groups of younger campers for supervised practice in leading and assisting campers. An off-site excursion and camp legacy project round out this final exciting camper year.
