After two years of high-risk leukemia, more than 200 rounds of chemotherapy and 700 days of isolation, seven-year-old Lochlan is in grade three, but struggling to read at a grade one level. Lochlan is one of many courageous kids who face a lifetime of complex, late effects from the cancer treatments that save their lives. Sometimes the treatment affects their ability to learn and keep up at school. Realizing this, Lochlan’s mother Melissa turned to Kids Cancer Care for help. Thanks to generous community support, Kids Cancer Care was able to help Lochlan through our one-to-one tutoring program. Lochlan is now regaining his confidence and a love learning again. Every child deserves access to the best education possible to lay the foundation for a bright future. You have the power to help a child reach their potential. Please give generously today.
