teen leadership travel project

teen leadership travel project

On March 23, 17 teens and three amazing chaperones embarked on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to the Dominican with Me to We, to make a difference in a local community. Through sweat and tears, our teens helped build a school, painted eight homes and learned about the local culture. We are so proud of the hard-work and dedication of all these fantastic Teen Leaders! And a HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated to the teens to go on this trip. We still have $10,000 left to raise prior to September 1, so please open your hearts and your wallets and donate to the 2015-2016 group of deserving teens.

Christine McIver receives Honorary Doctorate from University of Calgary

We are proud to announce that on June 7, the University of Calgary presented an honorary degree on Christine McIver, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kids Cancer Care. The honorary degree—Doctor of Laws—is the university’s highest academic honour and is bestowed on individuals whose notable achievements and community service merit recognition. Christine was recognized for her outstanding commitment and service to children and families affected by childhood cancer. After receiving her honorary Doctorate, Christine gave the convocation address to students graduating from the faculties of environmental design, social work and education. For those who wish to do something special for Christine, she’d be thrilled if you made a donation to the Kids Cancer Care Derek Wandzura Memorial Scholarship Fund
