Sa’ad was just 18 months old when a sudden choking incident in April 2017 revealed a large tumor near his heart. The diagnosis—T-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma—shocked his family, and then began an intense and emotional medical journey. Sa’ad started treatment at Alberta Children’s Hospital, where he faced many tough days, but with strength and resilience. After more than two years of chemotherapy, he completed his treatment in July 2019.
Throughout Sa’ad’s cancer journey, Kids Cancer Care was there every step of the way. From hospital visits and family outings to specialized programs like PEER and tutoring, YOU gave Sa’ad and his family vital support. Though he continues to deal with some effects of treatment, Kids Cancer Care has helped him rediscover joy and confidence. Today, Sa’ad is thriving—exploring his interests, making friends, and embracing life.
