Your gift helps heal the whole family
When Jude was diagnosed with cancer at the age of three, he was still too young to go to Camp Kindle, but his siblings Aoife and Joaquin could go. At Camp Kindle, Aoife and Joaquin could temporarily forget about their brother's cancer and focus entirely on themselves. Meanwhile Mom and Dad could focus their attention solely on Jude for a whole week.
For a tween who previously struggled with anxiety and peer issues, Joaquin surprised his parents by not only thriving at camp, but also making deep connections with two new friends. Aoife’s focus at camp was gaining independence and enjoying the simple pleasures of camp activities.
Your generous support makes programs possible for kids and the whole family. Even though kids’ summer camps are on hold due to COVID-19, the Gossen family experienced a private family getaway at our COVID-compliant Glamp Kindle program. It offered each of them the best of Camp Kindle - rest, adventure and new opportunities. Their mother Ciara says "there’s not enough words to express our gratitude.”
