Recruitment, Training and
Retention
KCCFA is committed to ensuring that Alberta children
with cancer receive the best care right here in
their own province. This means building a strong
oncology program at the hospital that attracts the
best and brightest doctors.
These doctors and
nurses oversee the day-to-day care of children. They
also oversee clinical trials, which takes knowledge
gained from the research lab into the hospital.
Here, doctors test new drugs and medical procedures
to determine if they are safe and beneficial for
cancer patients.
By funding
pilot
positions and a
resident training
program at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, KCCFA is
also ensuring that Alberta children receive optimum
care well into the future.
A strong clinical
program means better and safer cancer treatments for
children. It is pivotal to attracting and keeping
the best cancer professionals in our city, which, in
turn, ensures a world-class clinical program.
