KCCFA Mom Olympic hopeful

Carolyn Darbyshire-McRorie, a KCCFA mother, is representing Canada this year at the 2010 Games in Vancouver. Carolyn is second for Cheryl Bernard on the Canadian Women’s Curling team, which also includes third Susan O'Connor and lead Cori Bartell. She’s the oldest Canadian competitor, and among the oldest competitors at the games, but it doesn’t seem to faze her. After nearly losing her step-son Shea, a KCCFA camper, to cancer a couple years ago, Carolyn keeps things in perspective, "No matter what happens we've got jobs, we've got lives and we’ve got husbands, so life does go on even after everything is finished. If we don’t win gold the sun is still going to shine. I still get to come home to two kids and raise my family".

Congratulations to Carolyn and the team for making it this far. We wish you the best of luck in Vancouver. To follow the progress of Carolyn and the team, please visit: www.olympic.ca/en/sports/Curling
