The
Kids Cancer Care Foundation
of Alberta is built on a successful and thriving
history of delivering safe, quality camp experiences
for young people and their families affected by
cancer. Our free
weekend and
summer camps
offer young people across Alberta a chance to escape
the rigours of cancer treatments for fun-filled
adventure outdoors. After months of bed-ridden
isolation, children at camp soon discover they are
not alone in their struggles. They return home
budding artists, hikers, actors, rafters, swimmers,
naturalists, singers, dancers, mountain bikers and
climbers. But mostly they come home smiling.
From
SunRise to
SunMaker to
SunSeeker
to
SunHaven,
Teen Camp and
Family Camp, KCCFA camps are designed to meet the
needs of the whole family at each stage in the
cancer journey—from diagnosis through treatment to
survival or bereavement. Our
staff and
volunteers are fully qualified and trained to meet
the unique physical, medical and psychosocial needs
of young people affected by cancer. All our camps
are located short distances from the Alberta
Children’s Hospital in Calgary and the Stollery
Children’s Hospital in Edmonton.
