experimental & applied therapeutics
The Kids Cancer Care Foundation’s $2.5 million investment
in experimental and applied therapeutics at the Alberta
Children’s Hospital is supporting collaborative research
between doctors at the Alberta Children’s Hospital,
University of Calgary and Southern Alberta Cancer Research
Institute. To be paid over five years, KCCFA’s gift will
help shed light onto some of the most perplexing and
difficult pediatric cancers, which currently have poor
outcomes. The focus of the experimental and applied
therapeutics program is to find new treatments and hope for
children where conventional treatments fail. Discoveries
made through this collaborative research will add to the
growing body of knowledge in pediatric cancers and may one
day lead to a cure for some of the toughest cancers.
